Planning Report – 9th January 2012 – Parish Council

PLANNING REPORT NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2011

  1. CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE BY SOUTH NORFOLK COUNCIL TO MINIMISE NECESSITY OF PUTTING PLANNING APPLICATIONS THROUGH FULL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETINGS, THUS REDUCING COSTS OF DETERMINING PLANNING APPLICATIONS.  A PLANNING GUIDE HAS BEEN RECEIVED.

  1. LAFARGE AGGREGATES HAS COMPLETED THE FIRST PHASE OF MINERAL EXTRACTION FROM THEIR MANGREEN SITE.  FULL RESTORATION OF THE AREA CONCERNED HAS TAKEN PLACE.  THEY ARE NOW COMMENCING THE NEXT PHASE OF THEIR OPERATIONS.  THIS WILL EXTEND THE SITE TO THE SOUTH OF MANGREEN LANE.

  1. FOLLOWING CONCERNS REGARDING THE PROPOSED DWELLING WITH DETACHED GARAGE ADJACENT TO No6 CHURCH CLOSE,  THE DEVELOPER HAS NOW MODIFIED THE PLANS TO INCORPORATE THE DOUBLE GARAGE WITHIN THE PROPOSED DWELLING.  WE STILL HAVE CONCERNS AS TO WHERE THE EXISTING GARAGE WILL BE RE-SITED.

WE HAVE ALSO ASKED THAT ANY PERMISSION MUST STATE THAT PARKING ON CHURCH CLOSE IS FORBIDDEN.

  1. UK POWER NETWORKS WILL BE REPLACING THE TRANSFORMER LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE VILLAGE RECYCLING CENTRE IN THE COMING MONTHS.  THERE MAY BE A SHORT LOSS OF POWER WHILST THIS WORK IS CARRIED OUT.  WE WILL BE ADVISED WHEN THIS IS TO BE DONE.
